Description
The SIC Tao Air-Surf 10′6″ × 33″ is an inflatable stand up paddleboard (SUP) package designed to be a “do it all” board: family outings, small to medium surfing, yoga, cruising, and general recreational use. It’s part of the SIC Maui Tao series, using inflatable technology with features to make it stiff, durable, portable, and stable. Because it includes paddle, leash, pump, etc., it’s often sold as a full kit (“package” / “Air-Glide / Air / Surf” variant), meaning you’re ready to go out of the box with minimal setup.
Construction & Technology
-
Inflatable Drop-Stitch Construction (DSC): The board is made with a drop-stitch core, which is standard in quality inflatable SUPs. It allows the board to keep its shape under high pressure.
-
Support Stringer Technology (SST): This is a reinforced structural “stringer” (HDPE belt or similar) fused onto the board (PVC shell), both top and bottom. This adds stiffness and helps lock in the rocker profile so the board tracks better and doesn’t flex too much.
-
Fin and Fin Box: Comes with a centre (single) fin, typically a “Mahi” nylon fin (~ 8″) in a standard US fin box.
What’s in the Package
The “package” version usually includes the following accessories so you’re more or less ready to go:
-
3-piece adjustable paddle (often aluminium shaft) with anti-twist handle/grip, etc.
-
Dual-action hand pump for inflating the board
-
Leash (coiled leash of about 8 ft in most listings)
-
Repair kit (patches, valve tool, spare fin screw / plate)
-
Carry-backpack or duffel style bag (not always wheeled) to store and transport the deflated board + accessories
-
Center carry handle on the board for carrying while inflated.
Care, Maintenance, & Practical Tips
-
Inflate to the recommended PSI (likely up to 15-20 psi). Check with a pressure gauge; manual pumps often have gauges. Over-inflation or using electric pumps can damage.
-
After use in saltwater, rinse with fresh water, especially around fin box, valve, leash plug.
-
When storing, avoid leaving fully inflated in very hot sun or a vehicle interior, which can increase internal pressure and stress seams. Slightly loosen or deflate if in sun long.
-
Roll or fold carefully into the bag; avoid sharp bends in PVC or seams.
-
Check valve for tightness; keep it clean.
-
Maintain accessories: paddle screws, leash, fin screws; repair kit should be used promptly if there are small punctures.
