Description
Scupper valves (or scupper plugs) are one-way valves fitted into the scupper holes of sit-on-top or pedal kayaks. These holes allow water that enters the cockpit (from waves, splashes, rain, etc.) to drain out, but scupper valves prevent outside water from entering back through those same holes when the kayak is stationary or moving gently. The short variety sit more flush with the kayak’s deck, interfering less with feet, crates, standing, gear, etc.
“Two Pack” means the product comes as a set of two valves. Often kayaks have multiple scupper holes, so you may replace or cover a pair.
Who These Valves Are Ideal For
These short scupper valves are especially helpful for:
-
Kayakers who use sit-on-top, pedal-drive, or stand-on kayaks and want to minimize water inside.
-
Fishing kayakers who rig crates, seats, or gear boxes on the deck — flush valves reduce interference.
-
Users who often paddle in choppy / splashy water but want to improve dryness and comfort.
-
Anyone wanting a low-cost upgrade/repair that improves usability of the kayak.
Summary
Short Scupper Valves – Two Pack are a simple but effective accessory for sit-on-top and similar kayaks. They help keep water out, improve comfort and usability by sitting flush, and are easy to replace and maintain. While they aren’t a perfect seal in all conditions, for most recreational paddlers and anglers they offer valuable benefits at low cost.
